Here at Tolcarne, we’re firm believers that no holiday is complete without a healthy dose of indulgence.
That’s why we’re so happy to launch our all-new summer menu, keeping your taste buds cheery from breakfast through to dinner.
As foodies, we’re determined to make all of your meals with us simply unforgettable. With breathtaking beachside views, you’ll connect with loved ones over mouth-watering meals and postcard-perfect backdrops…
So, without further ado, we proudly present our brand new summer menu…
Breakfast
The well-known ‘most important meal of the day’ is served from 8-10:30am each morning.
For those with a sweet tooth, we’ve got plenty on offer. Our American Pancakes are layered with maple mascarpone and fruit compote, a delicious combo that you’ll be jumping out of bed to try. For something a little lighter (but still deliciously sweet), we’ve got a granola bowl made with natural yoghurt and fresh fruit, topped with a drizzle of honey.
For those with big adventures planned, start the day with some healthy protein by opting for an egg-based dish. From scrambled eggs and salmon to eggs hollandaise and smashed avo, we’ve got no shortage of ways to cook up a storm.
But if there’s one thing that makes our menu truly special, it’s the focus on local delicacies. Get the ultimate Cornish experience with the Full Cornish Breakfast, a mouth-watering platter of bacon rashers, sausage, baked beans, mushroom, cherry vine tomatoes, eggs and more. Veggie? No problem. We’ll simply swap out the meat for grilled halloumi and veggie sausage. Vegan or have other dietary requirements? No worries there, either. Our lovely Colonial chefs are always happy to make amendments to any dish, just for you.
And for our extra-cheeky travellers, why not pair your morning meal with a Bloody Mary or Mimosa? Rumour has it there’s no better way to kick off a day of holiday adventuring…
Lunch
Take a break from walking, beaching or surfing and enjoy a lazy lunch back at the Colonial.
With crab sandwiches, lobster rolls, oysters and coconut prawns, our menu is a delight for seafood lovers. Cooked to perfection and seasoned by experts, there’s nothing quite like fresh, local seafood…
Not a fan of fish? I mean… we don’t quite get it, but you do you!
Sit back and tuck into one of our burgers instead; from the Jerk burger with chargrilled chicken breast, BBQ sauce and crispy onion, to the classic Colonial burger with Monterrey Jack cheese, sriracha mayo and extra bacon. Simply perfect!
Plus, there’s plenty of nibbles and sides to share with the whole table. Options include crispy seaweed, charred corn, padron peppers and honey mac & cheese. We’ve made sure to include a little something for everyone!
We’re all about the slow life here at Tolcarne, so make sure to pair your meal with a choice of tea, coffee, or something stronger. From mid-afternoon cocktails to an ice cold beer, your wish is our command.
Dinner
The sun is setting, the tan is developing, the tummies are rumbling…
That means one thing, and one thing only: it’s dinner time.
An incredible amount of time, effort and energy is put into creating every single one of our dinner dishes, and we just can’t wait to share them with you. Crab and prawn linguine, curried monkfish tail and Caribbean spiced market fish are some of our spotlight seafood mains, but we’d like to give an extra special mention to the 10oz Sirloin Steak. Complete with confit garlic shroom, grilled vine tomatoes, shallot and thyme puree, as well as hand-cut chips, this flavour-filled delight simply can’t be missed.
With BBQ glazed ribs, Cornish moules, fish goujons and smokey cajun skewers, we’ve got no shortage of starters and sides to choose from. But is there any better side dish than great views, and great company?
Though our salt and pepper squid might be a close runner-up, we know how precious your time with loved ones can be. The Colonial, complete with beachside views and fresh sea air, makes the perfect spot for long catch-ups and intimate conversations. Sip on cocktails and talk the night away – we promise we’ll only interrupt to top up those empty glasses!
